Amarante’s Sea Cliff Weddings are among my favorites to photograph. Located in New Haven, Connecticut on the shoreline, it is a romantic, fun place to celebrate. I have found that the staff treat every bride, groom and their families as if they were their own! Peter Garceau and his staff do an amazing job. On June 11th, Amarante’s Sea Cliff was at its best. It had rained all morning, however, just in time for setting up chairs out on the lawn, the clouds parted and the day that Stephanie and Adam had dreamed of became a reality. They could not have asked for more perfect timing. I met the bride and her girls in the beautifully decorated dressing room upstairs. There was champagne, laughter and anticipation. Stephanie’s father stopped by as soon as she was in her gown and we caught a beautiful moment as he saw her for the first time as a gorgeous bride! Here are some highlights from Stephanie and Adam’s special day.
The day was cool and crisp and the fall foliage was at peak color. Family and friends gathered together to celebrate Chelsea and Peter’s Wedding at The Waterview. It was an honor for me to photograph their special day. They will create a fantastic life together. This was a brilliantly fun and elegant affair, as is the norm for a wedding at The Waterview. The details reflected the autumn colors with hints of Halloween everywhere giving it the feel of an old fashioned masquerade party. The Waterview has two wonderful settings for outdoor wedding ceremonies. Set on Lake Zoar in Monroe, CT, the grounds are well manicured with patios and well landscaped gardens. A wonderful setting for the photography. Here are some favorite photos from the day to share with you. Congratulations Chelsea and Peter! Best wishes to you both. This wedding at The Waterview was my last wedding of 2014. What a wonderful way to finish the season. Thanks for stopping by the blog. I do have the best job in the world. I love serving my clients and thinking up cool ways to create something really special for each couple on their wedding day. There are many wedding locations in CT where I love to work. One of these is Amarante’s Seacliff in New Haven. Let me tell you a little about why I enjoy this place so much. #1: Grace and the whole team at Amarante’s treat their clients and vendors like family. (I am a preferred vendor there so I know!) They really care about your wedding day.. and they work with you as if you ARE a member of their own family. This is for real and not something you find anywhere. Trust me. #2: The food is awesome. I love to eat great food and when I photograph weddings I get very hungry so, it is always a pleasure to eat their fine food. Amarante’s does an awesome job at their Client Tasting events twice a year, too! #3: The service is wonderful. I have NEVER I experienced a hold up in the meal coming out or a glitch in the time-line that makes the guests fidgity wondering when […]
I love the small intimate feel of a garden wedding at home. It is a personal reflection of the couple, their families and their new life that lies ahead. This past weekend I had the honor to be the photographer at Beckie and Lester’s wedding. What a lovely day they planned with the help of family and friends. They even had home brewed beers with the coolest custom labels! After all the rain, it turned out to be a ‘picture perfect’ day. Here are a few images to give you an idea of how wonderful a day it was! Congratulations to this awesome couple and their families.
Tip#2: With so many colors to choose from, think about how your color choices will look in your wedding images. Also, save the leftover fabric (hems) from your brides maids dresses so you can either match colors for the details, centerpieces or wrap the bouquet stems. Take a look at one of my brides from 2010, Pamela. She had a unique color scheme at her wedding at the Inn at Mystic, CT. I think it looked great for a summer outdoor ceremony! Pastels would not have stood up in the direct sun. Here they are in the shade for the photos and it still looks great.
I thought I would begin a blog series of wedding album designs. This way you can see what I do for my clients after the wedding. All my albums designs are custom, made specifically to match the couples style and the wedding day feel. No two albums are ever the same! The style I chose here was simple and traditional. Meet Amy and John. They were married in June 2010 and they planned an intimate garden wedding. Check back soon as I will be showing you more designs from this years weddings. Thank you for stopping by the blog!
What a beautiful day for two incredible people, Elisabete and Andrew. They were married yesterday at the Harding- Allen Estate house in Barre, MA. It is a spectacular setting for a garden ceremony and indoor reception. This was my first time there and I highly recommend it! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.
St. Clement’s Castle right here in Connecticut is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings! The setting is spectacular and the inside and outside of the building is perfect for all kinds of formal and informal images. Besides the views and architecture, the staff there is so helpful and accommodating that it is a pleasure to work there. My brides and grooms have all had wonderful things to say about their experience at St. Clement’s as well. I highly suggest this wedding venue if you can book it.
The natural light of garden weddings can make all the details look so beautiful. I love how the light here was so soft which complimented the roses and the details of this brides dress. I made this image recently after a garden wedding ceremony, just before sunset. Think about ‘time of day’ for your garden wedding. Late in the day is usually the best, as it is cooler and the light is perfect for your photos. You will look your best as well without the harsh sun on your face or on the white dress.
