A Wickham Park Wedding I had the honor of photographing Andrea and Jim’s Wickham Park Wedding at the Log Cabin in September. It was a bright sunny day with big puffy clouds so they could not have asked for weather. Joined by their family and friends, their vows were exchanged high on a hill overlooking the spectacular view of downtown Hartford. Great reasons to choose a Wickham Park Wedding. The Log Cabin at Wickham Park is one of my favorite places at the park to photograph a wedding. This location has a spectacular view of the city and sunsets. There is a resident Moosehead over the stone fireplace in the cabin for those who care! The white tent attached to the Log Cabin helps with larger events, rain, or hot days so this is a definite added advantage. The Guests and newly weds are able to enjoy the gardens for lovely photo opportunities or simply the ability to relax outside on the benches. On top of all this, the formal flower garden and outdoor ceremony patio (yes with a spectacular view) is a wonderful place for ceremonies. Andrea and Jim planned a day that was totally reflective of their interests and personalities resulting in a great time for everyone. Here are some photos from the day. We started photographing […]
There is nothing quite like the feeling I get when I walk into a large cathedral, even in Connecticut. It could be anywhere in the world and it definitely takes my breath away. Beth and Alan planned an extraordinary wedding here in CT at the end of September and their ceremony took place in the beautiful Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Downtown Waterbury, CT. It is an Italian renaissance design after the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome, (cool link, check it out!) is an extraordinary place to be married and I loved photographing it. While inside, you could pretend you were in Italy for an hour! Now, if you want to get married in a cathedral, you may want to get a dress that fits the church. Beth wore the perfect dress and ‘cathedral’ veil for this venue! I just love the long flowy dress and veil. They planned a joyous day – Alan’s family came all the way from Ireland and the two families met a few days prior to the wedding for the first time! The reception was held at the Heritage Hotel in Southbury, CT and their Stone Garden was perfect for formal photos […]
Just catching up on my blog, I am a little behind. So, starting with this lovely July wedding…. I first met Lily at her place of work, as her boss employed me to create head shots on site for the staff. Lily mentioned that she was looking for a wedding photographer so I gave her my card. Subsequently, she did hire me, and when I finally met with both Lily and Joe for their engagement session, I instantly knew this was a divine match! They were made for each other. Have you ever met a couple while in their presence you could just feel the love between them? Well, there it was! So, on July 20, Lily and Joe promised their lives to each other at the beautiful Storrs Congregational Church on the UCONN Campus. It was during that brutal heat wave we had – but Joe and Lily looked cool and collected all day long! Happy to be together and surrounded by their amazing families. The reception was at Lily’s parents house near by, a beautiful spot in the woods with garden, pool, barn and a big tent in case of rain. Well, they had everything that day – […]
I love the small intimate feel of a garden wedding at home. It is a personal reflection of the couple, their families and their new life that lies ahead. This past weekend I had the honor to be the photographer at Beckie and Lester’s wedding. What a lovely day they planned with the help of family and friends. They even had home brewed beers with the coolest custom labels! After all the rain, it turned out to be a ‘picture perfect’ day. Here are a few images to give you an idea of how wonderful a day it was! Congratulations to this awesome couple and their families.
Heather and Eric, UConn Alumni, were married at the Storrs campus last weekend. It was a really fun wedding with many personal touches. Here is a sneak peak of a few images. There will be more to come so check back soon.
I had the honor of photographing the Wedding of Lauren and Anthony at the Waterview in Monroe, CT. It was a lovely ceremony which was held inside due to the wet weather. The ceremony room and reception tables were beautifully decorated with flowers by Elizabeth of Blush Floral Design. I loved this special moment between Lauren and her mother just before the ceremony. Lauren wore an amazing dress which looked comfortable and gorgeous! …..and Tony looked great as well. After the ceremony and formal photos, Lauren returned wearing these shoes and a cute short dress for the party! Anthony changed his shoes as well! Congratulations to Lauren and Tony! AND a thank you to Jean Molodetz for her help as second photographer. Your images speak volumes, and I look forward to working together again soon. I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Melanie and Jeff on Sunday. It took place at the beautiful Amarante’s Seacliff in New Haven, CT. Melanie looked fabulous in a gown by Casablanca from Fairy Tales Formal in Glastonbury. The cake was by Creative Cakes by Donna. The grooms mother, Beth Weller and friend, Janet Sanders provided the floral centerpieces and the beautiful sunflower bouquets! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day! The last image of the couples first dance was taken by the amazing, Jean Moledetz, who was my second photographer for the day!
I created this portrait of Regan while she was taking a few moments to relax before she and her new husband Jason made their entrance into the reception for their first dance together as husband and wife. They were married at The Riverview, in Simsbury, CT.
I thought I would begin a blog series of wedding album designs. This way you can see what I do for my clients after the wedding. All my albums designs are custom, made specifically to match the couples style and the wedding day feel. No two albums are ever the same! The style I chose here was simple and traditional. Meet Amy and John. They were married in June 2010 and they planned an intimate garden wedding. Check back soon as I will be showing you more designs from this years weddings. Thank you for stopping by the blog!
One of the reasons I love my job is that I meet the most wonderful people that I would never have met unless I was their photographer. I love the stories of my clients and Marsha and Don have a lovely story. Don spent many years devoted to taking care of his very ill parents, he has never been married before. Marsha lost here first husband to a serious illness and they both decided to join a bereavement group. They fell in love and got married last week at the Inn at Woodstock Hill. It did rain that day, however it did not during the ceremony. The Inn did a great job and I recommend it to any bride looking for a beautiful spot to have a ceremony and reception, gorgeous grounds for the portraits, plus a beautiful room for the night. Meet Marsha and Don, to very special people. I wish them all the best in their lives together.
