I had the honor of photographing Tracey and Chris’s wedding in Westbrook, CT. It was a perfect June day to be on the Long Island Sound. The Elks Lodge in Westbrook was a wonderful place for a small and intimate wedding of family and friends. Tracey and Chris were supported by their two amazing sons, close family and wonderful friends. Congratulations to this couple! Here are a few photos from the day.
Amarante’s Sea Cliff Weddings are among my favorites to photograph. Located in New Haven, Connecticut on the shoreline, it is a romantic, fun place to celebrate. I have found that the staff treat every bride, groom and their families as if they were their own! Peter Garceau and his staff do an amazing job. On June 11th, Amarante’s Sea Cliff was at its best. It had rained all morning, however, just in time for setting up chairs out on the lawn, the clouds parted and the day that Stephanie and Adam had dreamed of became a reality. They could not have asked for more perfect timing. I met the bride and her girls in the beautifully decorated dressing room upstairs. There was champagne, laughter and anticipation. Stephanie’s father stopped by as soon as she was in her gown and we caught a beautiful moment as he saw her for the first time as a gorgeous bride! Here are some highlights from Stephanie and Adam’s special day.
The Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam, CT was the setting for the wedding reception of Marie and Josh yesterday. What a beautiful day it was. There was warm brilliant sun, then a few clouds and cool winds – but the day was joyous and fun. Here is just a few photos from the day…MORE to come SOON.
The day was cool and crisp and the fall foliage was at peak color. Family and friends gathered together to celebrate Chelsea and Peter’s Wedding at The Waterview. It was an honor for me to photograph their special day. They will create a fantastic life together. This was a brilliantly fun and elegant affair, as is the norm for a wedding at The Waterview. The details reflected the autumn colors with hints of Halloween everywhere giving it the feel of an old fashioned masquerade party. The Waterview has two wonderful settings for outdoor wedding ceremonies. Set on Lake Zoar in Monroe, CT, the grounds are well manicured with patios and well landscaped gardens. A wonderful setting for the photography. Here are some favorite photos from the day to share with you. Congratulations Chelsea and Peter! Best wishes to you both. This wedding at The Waterview was my last wedding of 2014. What a wonderful way to finish the season. Thanks for stopping by the blog. Today I am happy to share with you this recent Pomfret School Chapel Wedding at the Pomfret School of eastern Connecticut. Erin and Rob could not have had a more perfect day. It started out a little foggy but, as Erin’s father exclaimed after the ceremony, “The skies cleared as soon as they kissed!” The sun was bright and we had a beautiful, dry September day of celebration. Erin and Rob are two very special people. I met Erin a few years ago at a chamber of commerce meeting. She took my card then, and now many years later, she called when they decided to marry! I am thrilled that she did, as they planned a really fun and beautiful wedding and I had a chance to get to know them both a little more. One of her relatives had a Stanley Steamer car, so she arrived and departed in this cool old fashioned vehicle. The Pomfret School Chapel is a gorgeous place to be married. In fact, Erin’s parents were married there, too. I think that is pretty special. Erin and Rob included all her nieces and nephews as an integral part of the wedding party which made some […]
I had the honor of photographing the marriage of Candy and Bob this past July – with family and close friends standing by as they joined their lives together. The ceremony took place in a tiny church in Hebron, CT which is located southeast of Hartford in the beautiful rolling hills and farmlands of this cool little state. There were big beautiful bouquets of summer flowers; pretty pots with ribbons lining the pews and lovely bouquets and boutonniers. After the ceremony & photos in the garden, we proceeded to downtown Hartford for the party at the fantastic restaurant ‘Firebox‘ that specializes in ‘Farm to Table’ foods. (A must visit if you have not already experienced this place.) It was a fine mix of sophistication and down to earth rustic which made a unique, fun and beautiful wedding day. Congratulations to this beautiful couple! Take a peek at what the day was like and please leave your comments below! Thank you for visiting my blog. I promised that I would show you more wedding albums I designed this year… so on this last day of 2012, here is another sampling from one of my favorites. This wedding took place at the Alumni Center on the campus of the University of Connecticut in July. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a elegant, intimate space for a wedding. There ceremony took place outdoors in the Courtyard patio area and the reception inside the pretty hall with a beautiful stairway and lots of windows. Graduates of UConn, Heather and Eric had a splendid day and created many of the wedding details themselves. Their fun-loving, warm and unique personalities were evident and were reflected in their choices of decor and reception details right down to the “donuts to go” bags that made it fun and comfortable for all their guests. Albums are a big part of my wedding business, it is the first family heirloom and will be a treasured keepsake to share with family and friends. The digital world of photography can be dangerous as a digital file can be lost or corrupted easily, and who knows what kinds of technology we will have in […]
I had the honor of photographing Anna & Nayan’s wedding recently at one of my favorite venues, The Publick House in Sturbridge, MA. It was a perfect day! Congratulations to this wonderful couple. They planned it all themselves with some help from some wonderful wedding vendors! Take a look… Hair and makeup by Tiffany Leo of Tiffany’s Hair Studio in Sturbridge, MA. She does great work for brides who like the natural look. The beautiful fall flower bouquets and totally inspired flower purses for the bridesmaids were created by Helena Willis of Perfect Princess Events in Vernon, CT. Anna all ready to go in a dress by Oleg Cassini. ‘First look’ in the tight corners of the publick House. Nayan is very tall and the ceilings are very low! On the porch of the Publick House. A friend of Anna makes chapstick and they were the vehicle for the place cards on the reception table. Anyone want to share the creators name? This was cool. And the Publick Houses’ beautiful garden gazebo for the ceremony. The reception was held in the magnificent Canopy Tent next to the Garden Gazebo and Cathy O’Brien did an amazing job with catering and […]
As a wedding photographer in Connecticut, I am comfortable behind the camera, but a bride and groom may not be so comfortable as the subject on the other side. That is why I highly recommend ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS before the wedding day if possible. This gives you time to feel what it feels like to be the main photographic subject all day! The more time you spend with your photographer, the more comfortable you will be in front of their camera. This kind of pre-wedding session will also give you time to get to know your photographer and visa-versa: be yourselves – wacky, fun or a little crazy and there will be plenty of “moments” to capture the real you in photos you will cherish. Also, your photographer can help you learn to pose so you look great on this day AND ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. Posing is the not the big bad ugly that so many people think it is. I pose people to look their very best. Isn’t that what everyone wants – to look great? I also realize that it is important to look natural, too, there is no better place than an engagement session with your photographer […]
I know it is rather traditional and maybe out of date to some minds.. but this kind image is a favorite of mine. I love the uniqueness of each hand; the contrast and the details. Hands have always been a favorite photographic subject of mine. When I studied fine art at UConn, I made a book (by hand) filled with photographs called, “Hands at Work”. These were dentists, artists, a baker, a mechanic, etc. Hands in themselves can tell the story of the person or persons they belong to. What does this image say to you? Please leave your thoughts, I would love to know.
