I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Melanie and Jeff on Sunday. It took place at the beautiful Amarante’s Seacliff in New Haven, CT. Melanie looked fabulous in a gown by Casablanca from Fairy Tales Formal in Glastonbury. The cake was by Creative Cakes by Donna. The grooms mother, Beth Weller and friend, Janet Sanders provided the floral centerpieces and the beautiful sunflower bouquets! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day! The last image of the couples first dance was taken by the amazing, Jean Moledetz, who was my second photographer for the day!
I created this portrait of Regan while she was taking a few moments to relax before she and her new husband Jason made their entrance into the reception for their first dance together as husband and wife. They were married at The Riverview, in Simsbury, CT.
In the beautiful eastern hills of Connecticut, Sandy and Craig were married last weekend at the Golden Lamb Buttery. It was a very cool and windy day, but so beautiful up on the hill where this wonderful restaurant is located in Brooklyn, CT. Here are a few favorite portraits from the day.
It was a beautiful, warm May Day wedding for Ann-Marie and Chris on Saturday. Ann Marie looked gorgeous and Chris dashing! Here are just a few of my favorites as a preview! I love Ann-Marie’s hair piece! After the wedding we went to the 8th hole at Vineyard Valley Golf Course in Pomfret, CT – one of their favorite hilltop places where I made this image for them. They are truely on top of their world! Congratulations to both of you! What a fabulous couple you are and I feel honored to have photographed your wedding day!
My husband and I had the honor of being guests at the wedding of our two special friends, Christina and Clayton, this past Sunday. What an incredible day it was. Spring arrived just for them!! It took place at The College Club of Boston, on Commonwealth Ave. just a block from the Garden. If you have not heard of, or been to this gorgeous gem of a venue, you must check it out! It is perfect for a small, intimate, yet elegant wedding ceremony and party. It is also a B&B! You will feel like you have stepped into a mid-18th century home and parlour. The walls are painted in pastel colors with beautiful trees and birds, the windows, the curtains, furniture, lighting, and the grand piano take you into another world. Here are some of my favorite images of two very special people! Christina looks spectacular! The room set a beautiful mood for the intimate ceremony. The happy couple posing for photographs by family and friends. Surrounded by loving friends…. The groom’s cake! Clayton is a fabulous violist! If you are in need of one, hire him! Everyone needs that picture! I just loved Christina’s dress! First dance… This […]
A favorite bouquet…. This one includes my favorite lily! June is a good time for these I think. She included Starfish ornaments – they were married by the seashore! Nice touch. Blush was the florist. Other ideas: You can make a homemade bouquet for a garden wedding. Sunflowers or what ever is seasonal can be spectacular. Whole Foods has a flower and bouquet service that I hear is “green” and very affordable. Give away a packet of sunflower seeds (or whatever your bouquet features) in a tiny metal bucket for every guest! The bucket would have the guests name and table number on it. Neat idea! Do any of you have a favorite florist that you are working with or clever idea about making your own? Please leave a comment so others can benefit. Thanks!
The natural light of garden weddings can make all the details look so beautiful. I love how the light here was so soft which complimented the roses and the details of this brides dress. I made this image recently after a garden wedding ceremony, just before sunset. Think about ‘time of day’ for your garden wedding. Late in the day is usually the best, as it is cooler and the light is perfect for your photos. You will look your best as well without the harsh sun on your face or on the white dress.
Here are some highlights from this weeks wedding. Two very special people. Tinunola and Tunde. We only had an hour together, but it was a very special hour. Both are from Nigeria, but met here in the US. They will return home next year to celebrate with their families. Tunde is a brilliant engineering student at UConn, and T is currently serving in the US military, on leave to get married! All the best to you both.
This is wonderful weather for late April! Here are two images that I took today. A patch of violets and a Trilium leaf… Here a fern opens as spring blossoms in Connecticut. Enjoy these moments while they last. Please look at my galleries and enjoy the important moments of some of my clients that I have captured. Kim
