A Wickham Park Wedding I had the honor of photographing Andrea and Jim’s Wickham Park Wedding at the Log Cabin in September. It was a bright sunny day with big puffy clouds so they could not have asked for weather. Joined by their family and friends, their vows were exchanged high on a hill overlooking the spectacular view of downtown Hartford. Great reasons to choose a Wickham Park Wedding. The Log Cabin at Wickham Park is one of my favorite places at the park to photograph a wedding. This location has a spectacular view of the city and sunsets. There is a resident Moosehead over the stone fireplace in the cabin for those who care! The white tent attached to the Log Cabin helps with larger events, rain, or hot days so this is a definite added advantage. The Guests and newly weds are able to enjoy the gardens for lovely photo opportunities or simply the ability to relax outside on the benches. On top of all this, the formal flower garden and outdoor ceremony patio (yes with a spectacular view) is a wonderful place for ceremonies. Andrea and Jim planned a day that was totally reflective of their interests and personalities resulting in a great time for everyone. Here are some photos from the day. We started photographing […]
The Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam, CT was the setting for the wedding reception of Marie and Josh yesterday. What a beautiful day it was. There was warm brilliant sun, then a few clouds and cool winds – but the day was joyous and fun. Here is just a few photos from the day…MORE to come SOON.
I had the honor of photographing the marriage of Candy and Bob this past July – with family and close friends standing by as they joined their lives together. The ceremony took place in a tiny church in Hebron, CT which is located southeast of Hartford in the beautiful rolling hills and farmlands of this cool little state. There were big beautiful bouquets of summer flowers; pretty pots with ribbons lining the pews and lovely bouquets and boutonniers. After the ceremony & photos in the garden, we proceeded to downtown Hartford for the party at the fantastic restaurant ‘Firebox‘ that specializes in ‘Farm to Table’ foods. (A must visit if you have not already experienced this place.) It was a fine mix of sophistication and down to earth rustic which made a unique, fun and beautiful wedding day. Congratulations to this beautiful couple! Take a peek at what the day was like and please leave your comments below! Thank you for visiting my blog. Just catching up on my blog, I am a little behind. So, starting with this lovely July wedding…. I first met Lily at her place of work, as her boss employed me to create head shots on site for the staff. Lily mentioned that she was looking for a wedding photographer so I gave her my card. Subsequently, she did hire me, and when I finally met with both Lily and Joe for their engagement session, I instantly knew this was a divine match! They were made for each other. Have you ever met a couple while in their presence you could just feel the love between them? Well, there it was! So, on July 20, Lily and Joe promised their lives to each other at the beautiful Storrs Congregational Church on the UCONN Campus. It was during that brutal heat wave we had – but Joe and Lily looked cool and collected all day long! Happy to be together and surrounded by their amazing families. The reception was at Lily’s parents house near by, a beautiful spot in the woods with garden, pool, barn and a big tent in case of rain. Well, they had everything that day – […]
What a wonderful day for Rachel and Mario. The weather was perfect all day, a cool rainy morning which cleared up just in time for the ceremony on the beautiful lawn of the Guilford Yacht Club. Here is a peek at some moments from their day. Stay tuned for more later….and please leave some blog love before you go!
As promised, I am back with another New England wedding at the Historic Publick House in Massachesetts. I photographed two weddings there this year and both were very different. One reception was in the tent and the other in the barn, and there are two outdoor venues for outdoor ceremonies. The big lawn on the hill and the garden lawn near the tent. I love photographing at this venue, the opportunities for photography are wonderful and the staff terrific. There are a variety of accommodations for overnight stays on site as well. Plus, the food is great! Check it out if you are looking for a unique place to get married. Here is Carolyn and Ryan’s wedding on the big lawn. It was a wild day- from fog, sun to rain! This was an August wedding. Don’t you just love her dress? This first image was taken in a lovely little house by the motel. It had wonderful natural light for portraits. Here is the Gazebo with beautiful landscaping for the ceremony. And, that lucky rain. Boy did it pour and really soaked the groom. But look at their faces… he doesn’t care and she is happy as could be to […]
I promised that I would show you more wedding albums I designed this year… so on this last day of 2012, here is another sampling from one of my favorites. This wedding took place at the Alumni Center on the campus of the University of Connecticut in July. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a elegant, intimate space for a wedding. There ceremony took place outdoors in the Courtyard patio area and the reception inside the pretty hall with a beautiful stairway and lots of windows. Graduates of UConn, Heather and Eric had a splendid day and created many of the wedding details themselves. Their fun-loving, warm and unique personalities were evident and were reflected in their choices of decor and reception details right down to the “donuts to go” bags that made it fun and comfortable for all their guests. Albums are a big part of my wedding business, it is the first family heirloom and will be a treasured keepsake to share with family and friends. The digital world of photography can be dangerous as a digital file can be lost or corrupted easily, and who knows what kinds of technology we will have in […]
I have been roasting turkeys and hams, finding time to take walks and talk with friends. That is what I love about this holiday season. But also, it is the time to finish up album designs, print orders and things like that. I would like to share a few pages from my album layouts that I am creating. I like to keep the pages simple, elegant and create a layout that will stand the test of time. No gimmicks or trendy stuff. This is the first family heirloom, after all. Here are a couple of pages from the album of Carolyn and Ryan. Their wedding was at the Publick House in Sturbridge, MA. It was an amazing day, from morning fog, to hot sun and then a torrential downpour! But this lovely couple took it all in stride and loved every minute of their day! I did, too. Well, now it is back to work on the final touches for the next album that I am getting ready for print! Please leave me some blog love with a comment here. I would love to hear from you.
Heather and Eric, UConn Alumni, were married at the Storrs campus last weekend. It was a really fun wedding with many personal touches. Here is a sneak peak of a few images. There will be more to come so check back soon.
Here is a look at a few details and quiet moments from one of my favorite weddings of last season. If you are looking for a beautiful venue, professional and helpful staff, check out the Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. There was an abundance of natural light everywhere which I love! There are many large windows which made a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, the bride and her details. Once it cooled down outdoors, the garden area offered me some beautiful reflected light for more portraits. Thanks for visiting my blog.
