Today Alexandria and Jason were married in the beautiful historic First Baptist Church in Storrs, Connecticut. This was the snowy wedding day that they had hoped for! All went well besides the weather – they both worked hard to pull off this intimate ceremony and dinner for close family and friends. They are both UConn students and Jason has planned a surprise honeymoon in snowy Vermont! I can’t wait to find out what wonderful destination he chose. Here are a few images of the day.
Meet my new friends and clients, Pamela and Jason. They drove all the way down from Massachusetts to meet me before the snow storm yesterday for a photo session in the freezing cold. Why? We shot for their totally awesome ‘save the date’ card! The card will have a bunch of ‘paparazzi style’ images of them and maybe I will post the end product here. In the mean time – here is one of my favorite images of them. Can you guess where we shot this? Yes, in Connecticut; yes, just before the snow storm….humm
St. Clement’s Castle right here in Connecticut is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings! The setting is spectacular and the inside and outside of the building is perfect for all kinds of formal and informal images. Besides the views and architecture, the staff there is so helpful and accommodating that it is a pleasure to work there. My brides and grooms have all had wonderful things to say about their experience at St. Clement’s as well. I highly suggest this wedding venue if you can book it.
I am looking forward to the 3rd annual Connecticut Bridal Event! It will be held at the University of Connecticut this Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009. Parking will be easy since it is at the beautiful Alumni Center. Visit the website for directions, ticket reservations and all the exciting details! I will be there all day and will have a SHOW SPECIAL and discounts only for attendees! If you are a bride or groom to be, please don’t miss this show! There will be lots of wedding professionals from the area and good information as you plan your wedding. SEE YOU THERE! Kim
Here are some highlights from this weeks wedding. Two very special people. Tinunola and Tunde. We only had an hour together, but it was a very special hour. Both are from Nigeria, but met here in the US. They will return home next year to celebrate with their families. Tunde is a brilliant engineering student at UConn, and T is currently serving in the US military, on leave to get married! All the best to you both.
I noticed that brides are still loving the elegant, slightly deco style weddings in older halls like the Bond Ballroom in Hartford. What are some of your dream venues? Is it the Bond, the beach or somewhere else? Please share.
