Wedding Albums Tell the Story.

I promised that I would show you more wedding albums I designed this year… so on this last day of 2012, here is another sampling from one of my favorites.  This wedding took place at the Alumni Center on the campus of the University of Connecticut in July.  I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a elegant, intimate space for a wedding.  There ceremony took place outdoors in the Courtyard patio area and the reception inside the pretty hall with a beautiful stairway and lots of windows.  Graduates of UConn, Heather and Eric had a splendid day and created many of the wedding details themselves.  Their fun-loving, warm and unique personalities were evident and were reflected in their choices of decor and reception details right down to the “donuts to go” bags that made it fun and comfortable for all their guests.  Albums are a big part of my wedding business, it is the first family heirloom and will be a treasured keepsake to share with family and friends.  The digital world of photography can be dangerous as a digital file can be lost or corrupted easily, and who knows what kinds of technology we will have in […]

Album Design time!

I have been roasting turkeys and hams, finding time to take walks and talk with friends.  That is what I love about this holiday season.  But also, it is the time to finish up album designs, print orders and things like that.  I would like to share a few pages from my album layouts that I am creating.  I like to keep the pages simple, elegant and create a layout that will stand the test of time.  No gimmicks or trendy stuff.  This is the first family heirloom, after all.  Here are a couple of pages from the album of Carolyn and Ryan.  Their wedding was at the Publick House in Sturbridge, MA.   It was an amazing day, from morning fog, to hot sun and then a torrential downpour!  But this lovely couple took it all in stride and loved every minute of their day!  I did, too. Well, now it is back to work on the final touches for the next album that I am getting ready for print!  Please leave me some blog love with a comment here.  I would love to hear from you.

CT Weddings: Stylish Details in your Photography

Many brides are looking for stylish, fun and helpful accessories and details for their wedding day.  Etsy weddings is one place to find such things.  One thing that I would recommend is a pretty hanger for your dress.  Most brides don’t think about this, but in the photos it can make a big difference!  Notice the dress on a clear plastic hanger (below)… this is better than the paper covered hangers from the cleaners, but a pretty silk padded one may have looked nicer.  Or a wooden one with a ribbon or two?   The dress hanging on a light colored armoire,  at Amarante’s Seacliff, as opposed to a darker surface, helps to hide the hanger or at least make it less noticed. Gorgeous Wedding Dresses!

Often brides ask about the dresses they see in my portfolio when they meet with me regarding my wedding services.  Here are a couple of dresses that have attracted some attention from brides who are still loooking for that perfect dress.  I thought I would share what I know about them because it may be helpful.   This dress was a Maggie Sottero design, it has beautiful details and flowing lines.  Here is a look at the back. This dress, below, is a Tara Keely design.   I believe she found it at Mariella’s Attic in Rocky Hill.  Good luck finding your dream dress!

Connecticut’s Wedding Venue -The Waterview, is Perfect for Intimate Moments

Here is a look at a few details and quiet moments from one of my favorite weddings of last season.  If you are looking for a beautiful venue, professional and helpful staff, check out the Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut.  It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.  There was an abundance of natural light everywhere which I love!  There are many large windows which made a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, the bride and her details. Once it cooled down outdoors, the garden area offered me some beautiful reflected light for more portraits. Thanks for visiting my blog.  Feel free to leave a comment, subscribe or simply check back soon! 🙂

Waterview Wedding in Connecticut!

I had the honor of photographing the Wedding of Lauren and Anthony at the Waterview in Monroe, CT.   It was a lovely ceremony which was held inside due to the wet weather.  The ceremony room and reception tables were beautifully decorated with flowers by Elizabeth of Blush Floral Design. I loved this special moment between Lauren and her mother just before the ceremony. Lauren wore an amazing dress which looked comfortable and gorgeous! …..and Tony looked great as well. After the ceremony and formal photos, Lauren returned wearing these shoes and a cute short dress for the party! Anthony changed his shoes as well! Congratulations to Lauren and Tony!  AND a thank you to Jean Molodetz for her help as second photographer.  Your images speak volumes,  and I look forward to working together again soon. Wedding at Amarante’s Seacliff

I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Melanie and Jeff on Sunday.  It took place at the beautiful Amarante’s Seacliff in New Haven, CT.  Melanie looked fabulous in a gown by Casablanca from Fairy Tales Formal in Glastonbury.  The cake was by Creative Cakes by Donna.  The grooms mother, Beth Weller and friend, Janet Sanders provided the floral centerpieces and the beautiful sunflower bouquets!  Here are a few of my favorite images from the day!  The last image of the couples first dance was taken by the amazing, Jean Moledetz, who was my second photographer for the day!

A bride and her bouquet…

I created this portrait of Regan while she was taking a few moments to relax before she and her new husband Jason made their entrance into the reception for their first dance together as husband and wife.  They were married at The Riverview, in Simsbury, CT.
