I had the pleasure of creating some new head shots for Pamela Horton, AFFINITY MARKETING DIRECTOR at BEARINGSTAR INSURANCE. We had such a good time, and she was surprised how painless the process was. That made me really happy! I think she looks fantastic, don’t you? Three different looks for different business applications. We did some studio lighting and natural lighting. It’s a good idea to update your head shot every two years, so give me a call and I can create something special for you, too.
I spent some time in Florida on the east coast and enjoyed a sunrise view every day. I will share more of them as each morning was unique. Here is one of my favorites. (taken with my trusty little Nikon P7000!) Amazing how the sunrise became a ritual event for us each morning. It doesn’t matter what season it is or where you are (unless it is cloudy), you may start your day with nature’s beautiful morning gift!
Sorry I don’t have an image of a ground hog! But it is sure nice to know, whether the ground hogs see their shadow or not, that it is February and spring is coming pretty soon… even though January felt like spring many times! Have a great day!
Often brides ask about the dresses they see in my portfolio when they meet with me regarding my wedding services. Here are a couple of dresses that have attracted some attention from brides who are still loooking for that perfect dress. I thought I would share what I know about them because it may be helpful. This dress was a Maggie Sottero design, it has beautiful details and flowing lines. Here is a look at the back. This dress, below, is a Tara Keely design. I believe she found it at Mariella’s Attic in Rocky Hill. Good luck finding your dream dress!
Getting married in 2012? 2013? Research is key to finding the wedding professionals who will help you create the wedding day of your dreams. There are many websites and blogs that will list vendors in your area with reviews and images of their work. To name a few, WeddingWire, Wedding Reports, GetMarried, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings and the list goes on. Depending on the style of wedding you are planning it is helpful to look for vendors that have that ‘ feel’ you are going for. Now is the time to make a short list of vendors for 2012 weddings, and get out there and meet face to face. Meet ups are more than just exchanging information as you can get a feel for the person who you will be communicating with AND spending hours with on your wedding day. My recommendation: find the people you are comfortable with and actually like. Usually the rest will fall into place. Check back as I will be posting about some of my favorite wedding vendor colleagues that I love working with and that you might consider for your wedding. 🙂 This beautiful centerpiece above was created by Melissa at Stylish Blooms […]
Here is another post about my favorite CT Wedding Vendors as I have been getting questions from brides who are still looking for them. If you are looking to hire a videographer team, I suggest Connecticut’s own Inspiration in Motion. They are located in Meridan, CT and these guys are excellent! I have heard from my couples who used them that they were very happy with the work, plus I can second that as they have sent me the same copies that were sent to my brides! They are a team of two brothers who obviously love what they do. I love working with them at weddings, as they are professional, inspired and easy going. Definitely check them out if you would like video of your wedding day. Meet Michael.
I know it is rather traditional and maybe out of date to some minds.. but this kind image is a favorite of mine. I love the uniqueness of each hand; the contrast and the details. Hands have always been a favorite photographic subject of mine. When I studied fine art at UConn, I made a book (by hand) filled with photographs called, “Hands at Work”. These were dentists, artists, a baker, a mechanic, etc. Hands in themselves can tell the story of the person or persons they belong to. What does this image say to you? Please leave your thoughts, I would love to know.
Here is a look at a few details and quiet moments from one of my favorite weddings of last season. If you are looking for a beautiful venue, professional and helpful staff, check out the Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. There was an abundance of natural light everywhere which I love! There are many large windows which made a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, the bride and her details. Once it cooled down outdoors, the garden area offered me some beautiful reflected light for more portraits. Thanks for visiting my blog. Here it is! The official Bova/Kaminsky family portrait. Every year we try to make a portrait of the family. This year when we had the time, we had no one else around to actually take the picture. So, we set out into the orchard behind our property with tripod, camera, some stands for off camera flash and set it up. We had a lot of fun in the process and I got plenty of exercise running back and forth to beat out the self-timer function on my camera! Actually, it did wonders for my hair! This one we liked the best and I share it with you. Pretty soon it will be a 20×30 metal or canvas print for our living room wall!
